3 Documentaries That Inspire! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Looking for feel-good, soul-lifting documentaries? These three left me feeling more inspired, grounded, and energetically elevated than when I hit play. Plus, they reminded me of all the beauty and possibility in the world. If you’re craving content that raises your vibe instead of draining it, this list is for you!
Love Over Money
This is such a beautiful story about a kiddo who grew up with “it all” — at least in terms of material possessions… even an ice cream cone shaped swimming pool in his backyard. But he suffered from the loneliness, isolation, and lack of love that defined his home environment. He ends up making a really daring decision that changes the trajectory of his life in a glorious way. I personally love how the synchronicities of life are portrayed in this. It’s just so touching. Get ready for some love tears as your heart warms!
Christspiracy
Oh my golly, THIS! I love me some passionate people following their mission in life, and this movie is undoubtedly the direct result of that! Did Jesus eat meat? How would he kill an animal? Those are the questions that sparked a seven year journey filled with powerful interviews, stunning drone footage, and mind-blowing mysteries getting unraveled. I first heard about this film on the Take Back Your Mind podcast, where Michael Beckwith interviewed Kip Andersen, the co-creator of Christspiracy. If you want an even more immersive experience, you might want to give that episode a listen before watching the film! Bonus: The creators wanted this to be accessible to everyone, so they’ve set up a “pay it forward” model. You can watch it for free or donate to help keep it going so even more people can experience it!
Will & Harper
This documentary was getting all kinds of love in our #pride Slack channel at work, so I knew I had to check it out! Will Ferrell and Harper Steele, a transitioning trans woman and his friend of over thirty years, set off on a cross-country road trip to explore how their evolving friendship will look moving forward (in a delightfully retro, wood-paneled Jeep Grand Cherokee…remember those?!). What really struck me was the tenderness and honesty in how their connection was portrayed. It was such a gift to see Will Ferrell as himself, not a character, just showing up as a friend. The film captures the beauty of two people navigating life and identity, with love, vulnerability, and heart. Highly recommend - this one stayed with me.
