Side Hustle Like a Pro: 3 Inspiring Action Steps

So, you’ve got the desire to make more money. Amazing! Now it’s time to get after it. Here’s a quick way to swing into action and start generating extra money almost immediately.

1. Start doing things right now to make money.

This step is meant to give you quick wins and show you how easy it can be to bring in a little cash (even five bucks at a time!). It’s also a powerful energetic move: you’re signaling to the Universe that you’re showing up. “Hey lovely, I’m here. Let’s do this.”

You likely won’t stay in this step for long since there are more lucrative ways to earn, but it’s a great place to get the wheels turning, build confidence, and start learning what lights you up, as well as what doesn’t. That knowledge is essential for step two.

A few quick-start ideas:
Sell stuff you don’t need. Hop on NextDoor or Craigslist and take small jobs (I used to weed yards!). Babysit (yep, adults can do it too). Pick up a delivery or rideshare gig. Clean houses. You could even sell your car with a high loan balance, buy a cheaper one with cash, and put the rest toward your debt.

Extra side bonus: when you approach this with a mindset that nothing is beneath you (as long as it’s in integrity), you’ll have experienced the gift of humility which will served me really well moving forward!

2. Lean into what you’re good at and build from there.

By now, you’ve brought in some extra cash, and your inner fire is stoked. Now’s the time to pause and reflect: What felt good? What didn’t?

When I did this myself, I realized I hated cleaning other people’s stuff, enjoyed weeding yards, and was naturally good at digital work. I also confirmed I was happiest when feeding my entrepreneurial spirit (a dear friend and I even worked on a house renovation together!)

Once I knew myself as a side hustler better I had ground rules I could follow. I made a vow to only clean my own home from then on, but I locked in a weekly yard work gig and started doing freelance computer work. That eventually morphed into building websites, which became the perfect side hustle for me and paid really well compared to what I was making in previous side hustles.

The key isn’t to overthink it. Just start, and keep following the cosmic cookie crumbs. They’ll lead you exactly where you need to go.

3. Keep a service mindset.

Now you’re in the thick of it. You’re working hard, and while it might be exhausting, it probably feels good. The old apathy has hit the road, and you’ve got momentum. Go you!

This next step is where you take things to the next level…not just in your side hustle, but in life. Whatever you’re doing, my recommendation is to do it with a mindset of service. Not subservience, but true, heart-centered service. Show up with the intention to help, to make things better, to leave people better than you found them. ♡

You’re still motivated to earn money (yay, this is a good thing!), but you’re also now motivated to uplift. That’s where I think the magic happens…for growth, fulfillment, and income.

Haha! For the funny! I found this work wasn’t at all my forte, but renovating this house with a dear friend was a super fun way to make extra money (while also being A LOT of hard work😅)!
